Summary
|
The project has begun in 2007 as part of the Memorandum of Understanding between Brazil and the United States to Advance Cooperation on Biofuels, coordinated in Brazil by the Ministry of External Relations. It has the objective of sharing and advancing knowledge on local impacts, socio-economic trends, certifications of products and process, and Green House Gases emissions of sugarcane and bioethanol production. Aware of the relevance of the impacts of Direct and Indirect Land Use Change, the project has then incorporated a session dedicated to this issue in early 2009.
ICONE main task on this project is to provide technical support in the analysis and development of adequate methodologies to measure Direct and Indirect Land Use Change issues.
